TFD Responds to High Road Residential Fire
June 05, 2023
On June 5, at 6:07 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a structure fire located in the 1200 block of High Road. Upon arrival, the first responding crews observed heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the building.
TFD crews immediately attacked the fire and conducted a thorough search of the structure. All occupants were out of the structure, and the fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes. TFD was able to minimize damage and prevent heavy fire spread to the five other adjoining apartments. There were no reported injuries on scene. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and City of Tallahassee Utilities. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents.
Smoke alarms can provide the early warning necessary to escape a deadly fire. A properly installed and maintained smoke alarm can alert you and your family to a fire 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Be sure to check your smoke alarms regularly to make sure they are working properly. Get more fire prevention information from TFD at Talgov.com/Fire.
