Sewer Connection Loan Program

Sewer Connection Loan Program

Loan Amount: Connection cost. This varies depending on property, system specifications and other factors. The maximum loan amount for water/sewer loans is $12,000.

Who May Participate: Homeowners who have City sewer service available. This includes Killearn Lakes residents in Units I and II.

How to Get Started: Check to see if sewer is available at your property. Call 850-891-4968 and follow the prompts to Water and Sewer Services. Ask the customer service representative about participating in the "Sewer Connection Loan Program." Note paperwork and identification required for the loan transaction process. Complete the sewer connection loan application and bring it in person to the Frenchtown Renaissance Center 435 N. Macomb St., at the corner of Macomb and Virginia Streets.

Additional Information

Homeowners who have access to the City's sewer service and would like to connect to the system can finance the entire cost for up to 10 years through the City's low interest sewer loan program. Charges are added to your utility bill and payments are made monthly through the normal utility billing process. The loan is secured by a lien on the property in the amount of the loan outstanding. Loans can include the sewer tap fee, system charge, sewer line construction, electrical enhancements and septic tank abandonment. The City will issue checks directly to the contractor(s).

NOTE: Under state law, if a septic tank malfunctions within the City limits and sewer service is available, the homeowner must connect to the central sewer system.
