Tallahassee Police Make Arrest Following Weekend Homicide
September 01, 2021
On Aug. 29, just after 2 a.m., the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) was monitoring a crowd that was gathered in the parking lot of Café Shisha, located at 2624 West Tennessee Street, when officers heard gunshots. Immediately, officers located two victims in an adjacent parking lot injured from the shooting. One of the victims, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries on scene. A second adult male sustained minor injuries.
Following a swift investigation by TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined the shooting was the result of a verbal altercation that turned physical between the suspect and the victims. During the altercation, the suspect produced a handgun and shot both victims.
Officers quickly developed probable cause, and the suspect was taken into custody today, Sept. 1, by TPD's Career Criminal Unit without further incident.
This arrest is a testament to TPD's tireless efforts and dedication to bringing justice to the victims in this case. If you see something, say something. Report criminal activity by calling TPD at 850-891-4200. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
