Tallahassee Police Make Arrest Following Palm Beach Street Shooting
October 30, 2023
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested one suspect in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred earlier in the day in the 600 block of Palm Beach Street.
Following a thorough investigation by TPD's Violent Crimes Unit, it was determined that 22-year-old Alquedrick Smith shot the victim, an adult female. The woman was taken to a local hospital where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. The suspect and victim were known to each other, and investigative efforts reveal this is not a random act of violence.

A search of the residence yielded several hidden firearms, including a fully automatic weapon. Smith was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
This arrest is a testament to TPD's tireless efforts and dedication to bringing justice to the victim in this case. If you see something, say something. Report criminal activity by calling TPD at 850-891-4200. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
