TFD Responds to Pine View Drive Residential Structure Fire

On Nov. 22, at approximately 5:31 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) responded to a reported structure fire in the 2600 block of Pine View Drive.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the rear of a single-story residence. Crews made an immediate interior attack and discovered the fire had already extended into the attic and was spreading rapidly. Crews worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching nearby structures.
A primary search confirmed all occupants had evacuated the home. One individual sustained minor burns and declined transport to the hospital.
During the response, firefighters rescued a rabbit and a cat from inside the residence.
Multiple TFD units were dispatched, including Stations 6, 3, 16 and 1. The Tallahassee Police Department, City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS also provided support.
The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office.
