Be Part of the City’s MLK Jr. Day Parade
Applications to Participate Open Through Jan. 9
December 29, 2025
To honor the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and in the spirit of his profound legacy, the City of Tallahassee, with support from other agencies and community organizations, will host the annual MLK Day parade and celebration on Jan. 19, 2026.
The parade will begin at noon and move along Monroe Street from Tennessee Street to Apalachee Parkway. Parade staging for floats and other participants will be on Monroe Street from the north side of Tennessee Street to Brevard Street.
At the conclusion of the parade, the community is also invited to join in festivities downtown along Adams Street, which will feature a variety of activities, guest speakers, performances and musical entertainment by DJ L-Smooth. The City’s annual Day of Dialogue will be held at City Hall, 300 S. Adams Street.
This year’s events reflect Dr. King’s vision of ending injustice, replacing violence with compassion and building our communities out of love. It seeks to show that his mission is still possible.
The City of Tallahassee is now accepting applications to participate in the parade and as a vendor at the downtown celebration online at Talgov.com/MLKParade. The application deadline for both is Jan. 9, 2026.
