Tallahassee Fire Department Responds to Three Structure Fires within Hours

On January 31, at 9:52 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a structure fire located in the 800 block of Dunn Street. TFD units arrived on scene in less than five minutes to find a single-story residential structure with heavy fire showing. TFD crews quickly deployed hose lines and began extinguishing the fire. TFD personnel searched the structure, and it was determined that the building was clear. There were no injuries reported on scene. The State Fire Marshal's office was called to the scene for further investigation.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD), City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS.

Shortly after, at 12:36 p.m., TFD units were dispatched to another structure fire located in the 1400 block of North Duval Street. Again, TFD crews arrived in less than five minutes and found heavy smoke and fire coming from a single-story structure. TFD personnel quickly made entry into the residence and began to extinguish the fire and search for any possible occupants. All occupants were out of the residence prior to TFD's arrival. One occupant was checked on scene for minor burns. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical.

TFD was assisted on scene by the TPD, City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS.

A third structure fire call came in at 3:17 p.m. in the 500 block of High Oaks Court. TFD crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a residential structure. TFD personnel entered the structure and extinguished a fire in the kitchen area. One occupant was evaluated on scene due to smoke inhalation.

The Tallahassee Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Leon County Sherrif’s Office, Leon County EMS, and Bradfordville Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
